STEDF announces 2017 Workforce Development Series, underwritten by ChevronPosted 09/14/2017
(MANDEVILLE, La.) – The St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation (STEDF)'s annual Workforce Development Series will kick off on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
In its fourth year, the Workforce Development Series—underwritten by Chevron—allows business leaders, community representatives and economic development partners to discuss workforce development opportunities in St. Tammany, the Greater New Orleans region and the state of Louisiana. The series connects industry leaders to college and K-12 curriculum professionals, resulting in education and training pathways for the current and future members of the regional workforce.
Ashley Cangelosi Llewellyn, development director for STEDF, said, "We use sector-specific conversations to drive and inform workforce development initiatives in our region. The series creates an inclusive, collaborative environment for sharing information, concerns and observations among those committed to educating, training and employing our workforce."
"St. Tammany Parish is home to our Gulf of Mexico Business Unit, and we are committed to economic growth and workforce development in the area," said Chevron Gulf of Mexico Public Affairs Manager Leah Brown. "The Workforce Development Series connects industry leaders with curriculum professionals and will share insight into opportunities in a variety of fields. We’re proud to once again sponsor this event."
